Flexible Work, Better Balance
Permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE 48 hours/fortnight). The Patients at Risk (PAR) Nurse is an enhanced senior nursing role, which focuses on patient safety and is an outreach of Critical Care. The foundation for the practice is prevention, early detection and early intervention for actual or potential deteriorating patients. It formalises a pathway via the Early Warning Score System utilised by Adult (EWS), Paediatric (PEWS) and Maternity (MEWS) care areas, providing a proactive care model of patient safety.
The PAR team is a supportive team of senior nurses who will guide and share their skills with others. They work on a 24/7 rostered and rotating roster and cover the whole Waikato Hospital Campus. They also provide outreach support to the rural hospitals.
