Position Overview
Essential Job Duties:
Ensures that each patient receives the best nutritional care possible within the dietary restrictions for the nature of that disease state. Charts appropriately in the record of each patient identified to be at nutritional risk. Performs Physician Ordered Diet Instructions and Nutritional Screenings for therapeutic diets, utilizing approved instruction materials and methods. Calculates diabetic, renal and other therapeutic diets and suggest changes in meal patterns as necessary. Calculates all enteral and parenteral nutrition, calorie counts and provides documentation in the electronic medical record. Develops and updates nutrition education materials. Develops skills of other clinical staff through in services. Submits reports to the Director on a pre-determined basis concerning . studies and other information requested.
