Job Description

**Summary**

Plans, organizes, and directs activities that promote optimum development of children, adolescents, and families in a normal living patterns and to minimize psychological trauma for pediatric ambulatory patients and inpatients throughout the Medical Center. Assesses individual and group needs. Compiles data regarding programs, evaluates results and implements needed changes.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

+ A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Life, Child Psychology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience with children in a hospital setting.
+ Child Life Certification preferred
+ Work requires analytical ability to assess developmental educational needs, and to develop individualized plans to meet those needs.
+ Work requires one year on the job training to acquire necessary familiarity with departmental policies and procedures.
