Position Overview
**Job Description**
The incumbent assists the Child Life Specialist in organizing and implementing recreational activities for pediatric patients to meet their developmental needs.
**Qualifications**
Associate Degree in Child Development or a related field.
Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation and Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
3 months experience minimum in working with special needs children and their families.
**Responsibilities**
1. Obtains census report from Nursing and coordinates different age groups activities as appropriate.
2. Organizes the activity room with age appropriate toys/ equipment and provides group activities under the supervision of the Child Life Specialist.
3. Assists in coordinating special programs for patients such as pet therapy, meditation, close-circuit television, knitting, parties, and other special events/services.
