**Describe**: The Chief Officer is responsible for the maintenance areas controlled by the deck department.
**Responsibilities/ Tasks**
- Responsible of the Planned Maintenance and Procurement System for the deck department and keep a close cooperation with the Storekeeper and the Staff Captain. Responsible for the Deck Stores, parts and supplies, Inventory Control and Purchase Requisitions.
- Responsible for the freshwater supply, consumption control, and chlorination in cooperation with the Staff Chief Engineer. He/she is also responsible of the swimming pools, the Jacuzzis, and the chlorination of these.
- Familiar with with all rules and regulations related to this as per Public Health requirements.
- Experience with the Water Ballast Management System.
- Ensure regular inspections are carried out in compliance with SOLAS requirements and in compliance with company's procedure
