**GENERAL SUMMARY:**

The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing a clear line of authority and accountability in the absence of the CNO and/or Departmental Managers. Functions in a role to facilitate operations of the hospital, implementation of changes, and enhance staff accountability. Serves as clinician with advanced clinical knowledge and skills.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:**

**1. Education** : Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse of the State of Ohio.

**Certification** : BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the AHA.

Have or be able to obtain ACLS and PALS within six months of hire. Must have or be willing to obtain NRP, dysrhythmia and critical care classes.
