Position Overview
The Department Chair provides strategic leadership, academic direction, and administrative oversight to advance the department's mission across medical education, research, patient care, and community health. The clinical footprint of the department resides within the Rowan-Virtua NeuroMusculoskeletal Institute (NMI), a multidisciplinary center that integrates osteopathic manipulative medicine, advanced pain management, rehabilitation medicine, and substance use disorder treatments to optimize patient quality of life.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Curricular Excellence & Academic Leadership
+ Champion of Osteopathic Identity: Serve as the institutional voice for osteopathic identity and history, inspiring graduates to become passionate, ethical stewards of the profession.
+ Curriculum Development: Lead the design, continuous assessment, and quality improvement of the four-year undergraduate OPP/OMM curriculum.
