Position for students in their first to third year of specific programs.
The Educational Assistant is hired as a support staff member to a classroom in which a child with specific needs is present (developmentally delayed, physically handicapped, deaf, blind, or experiencing behavioural/social/medical problems), or to a special education classroom. Each assignment will differ, but generally the role involves supporting the student(s)’ academic development, responding to their physical, emotional and hygienic needs, working as a team member of the school staff, and contributing to the educational program as a whole. Other duties may be assigned.
