**Position Purpose**

At Saint Francis Hospital, the **Cardiac Surgery Step Down** provides intermediate-level care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and other cardiovascular procedures. The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

**What You Will Do**

+ Provide direct nursing care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a step-down setting
+ Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and hemodynamic status
+ Manage chest tubes, temporary pacing wires, surgical incisions, and IV medications
+ Administer medications, including cardiac drips, per physician orders and protocols
