Petrinex is a strategic organization supporting Canada's upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sector. Petrinex is funded by governments and regulators and is collaboratively governed with all stakeholders under a unique and proven governance structure. Petrinex is owned by and resides in the Government of Alberta.

Petrinex supports the exchange and management of key royalty, regulatory and commercial information for the Government of Alberta, Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), ministries in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Manitoba, Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC), Statistics Canada, and industry associations as represented by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (EPAC).
