Job Duties: UCSD Building Maintenance Workers are expected to perform semi-skilled tasks independently or as part of a regular maintenance crew. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of buildings and related facilities and equipment using tools of the trade. Tasks include but are not limited to, repairing industrial appliances, disposals, pumps, heating systems, interior/exterior lighting, soldering and pipefitting, furniture and window treatment repair, installation, and replacement, trouble shooting, maintenance, and repair. Responsible for trouble shooting maintenance problems and managing/completing preventative computerized maintenance work orders via MAXIMO and handheld technologies. Provide customer service to all customers through the year. Will be assigned to cover campus buildings and grounds, performing maintenance work. Work may be dispatched by Customer Service Center dispatcher, Central Utilities Plant, and/or maintenance supervisors.
