Summary The Defender Services Office (DSO) is responsible for national administration of the U.S. federal defender and appointed counsel program which includes support of the Defender Services Committee of the Judicial Conference, defining appropriation and individual federal defender organization budget requirements, providing training throughout the country, and assessing individual district CJA programs. Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Program Operations Division range from program reviews of individual district defender offices, providing budget and program support to federal defender organizations and developing the national program budget request to Congress. The incumbent will serve as a Budget Analyst in the Program Operation Division.
