Job Description

A Glimpse of the Job

The Boatswain, under general supervision, assists with the training and preventative maintenance program on board the training ship. Assists Chief Mate with safety inspections required for MARAD and the US Coast Guard. Performs trade work at a high-skilled level and serves as a working leader of a maintenance crew of Deck Cadets in a USCG license program. Documents and maintains records of preventative maintenance and repairs performed.
