Job Purpose

Assess and analyse biosecurity risks, activate and implement plant and animal biosecurity initiatives, and strengthen the One Health system.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review biosecurity data collection, assess data quality and suggest improvements to ensure data accuracy.
• Identify potential plant, animal, and fisheries risks and evaluate them based on scientific foundations, conduct periodic analysis of health data for animal and plant diseases, and develop mitigation measures.
• Study and identify trends in biosecurity risks and elevate potential risks and highly critical matters to the National Biosecurity Committee to assist in targeting reduction-based activities.
• Monitor supporting information via the Geographic Information System (GIS) related to biosecurity to ensure the inclusion of all monitoring elements.
