The Waitangi Tribunal is a permanent commission of inquiry charged with making recommendations on claims brought by Māori relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. It holds a unique place in the New Zealand constitutional framework.

The Assistant Registrar supports the Waitangi Tribunal by performing registrarial functions that are essential to the effective operation of the organisation.

• Registration of claims
• Preparing Legal Aid application reports
• Providing drafting assistance and advice in relation to legal and procedural issues
