To contribute to and develop understanding of the past by conserving and assisting with research into material recovered from archaeological sites. To contribute to the successful commercial operation by fulfilling contract project work for external museums, archives and individual clients when required.
Responsibilities:
To identify, record, conserve, analyse, interpret and report on material from archaeological sites for study, publication, loan and exhibitions within defined project objectives, budgets and timetable.
To ensure that material in care is correctly stored, handled, transported and displayed.
To examine objects using x-radiography and basic analytical and physical techniques and co-ordinate the analytical work of internal and external specialists as they relate to conservation projects.
