Do you enjoy building, fixing, and solving problems with your hands? As an Apprentice Machinist on our CNC Turning Track, you’ll learn how to run a CNC lathe with confidence—producing accurate metal parts, checking quality with precision instruments, and developing the habits that make great machinists: safety, accuracy, and consistency.
Your Mission in the First Months
- Run production on CNC lathes under the wing of expert machinists and supervisors.
- Load raw materials, start/monitor/stop cycles, and spot issues like chatter or dimensional drift.
- Support basic setups: swap tools, adjust offsets, and assist with machine calibration.
- Learn Mazatrol fundamentals and core machine controls.
- Measure features using dial calipers, OD/ID mics, and gauges; confirm parts meet blueprints/specs.
