**About Ultra-Wide-Band (UWB):**


Ultra-Wide-Band (UWB) is an emerging high growth Connectivity technology. Short pulses <3-4ns is used to communicate between a Key Fob and a Car for secure ranging. The short nature of the pulse along with very low duty cycle and advanced data encryption makes it a secure communication approach. Radio operates around microwave frequency band of 7-10GHz and uses 500MHz bandwidth. UWB technology is growing exponentially with Cell Phone Manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung integrating it in the phone and Car OEM’s such as BMW, BYD, Tesla et al integrating UWB based anchors inside car. Besides communication, UWB is perfect for sensing/radar applications. For example, in child safety where UWB based Radar can detect periodic muscle movement such as breathing or general human presence. UWB Radar can also detect various movements around the Car such as kick to open the trunk, an intruder or an occupied seat.
