Overview

Hospital Optometry role at Burton Hospital, with associated sites in Lichfield and Tamworth. The position provides optometric support to paediatric clinics and will develop a new optometry department.

Responsibilities

• Cover paediatric and low‑vision clinics at Burton Hospital, Lichfield, and Tamworth.
• Develop and support a new optometry department at Burton Hospital.
• Provide optometric support in existing ophthalmology clinics: glaucoma, medical retina, anterior segment, oculoplastic disorders, and cornea.
• Perform refraction (diagnostic and paediatric), post‑operation cataract assessment, and contact lens fittings.
• Support low‑vision services and participate in specialist training areas such as medical retina, acute care, or glaucoma.

Working Hours

This role is full‑time (approximately 40 hours per week). Near full‑time (around 4 days per week) will also be considered.
