Flexible Work, Better Balance
A vacancy (37 hours) exists in the Technology (Mechanical) Section of Oncology Physics. The post holder will be part of a small team (3.0 whole time equivalent) and contribute to the routine duties in the section, including linear accelerator maintenance, QA and repair, and development of new equipment. Two 3-d printers have recently been bought by the department. Good communication and organisational skills are essential for the work involved.
Minimum qualifications are a degree or an equivalent level of knowledge. Experience in mechanical engineering including Machine Shop experience is essential, and some knowledge of radiotherapy physics would be beneficial.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
