Position Overview
The Behavioral Health Technician cares for individuals with psychiatric conditions as well as a variety of substance use disorders, following the instructions of physicians, nurses or other health practitioners. The Behavioral Health Technician monitors a patientsβ safety, physical and emotional well-being and report directly to medical staff.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Provides personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned clients
+ Assists clients with grooming, eating/meal preparation, and toileting
+ Maintains rounding on assigned clients/patients to ensure safety as directed
+ Assists with ambulation and transfer services
+ Monitors vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
+ Provides behavioral support services
+ Provides crisis intervention
+ Encourages independence
+ Maintains patient safety
